About a week before Corey and Beth’s scheduled wedding came the news that a horrible storm (Hurricane Irene) was heading directly towards Charleston.  Corey and Beth had to decide three days before the wedding whether or not to call it off.  Fortunately, Irene took a turn East and the wedding continued on as scheduled.  It was a beautiful and colorful wedding planned by Lizz Akerman at Southern Protocol www.southernprotocol.com with some of my favorite vendors- Stems www.charlestonstems.com, Leslie Moore www.mooremakeup.com, Hunter at www.updocharleston.com, Lauren at Wildflour Bakery www.wildflourpastry.com, Josh Silverman www.facebook.com/silvermansound and the talented Plantation Singers www.plantationsingers.com.  Also, it took place in the historic French Hugenot Chuch www.frenchchurch.org with a reception at the William Aiken House www.patpropllc.com. So glad Irene stayed away and we got to celebrate a beautiful day with Corey and Beth!  Congrats!

A little while back, Brittany and Joey met me downtown for their engagement session.  We almost got rained out but thankfully the weather held out.  I am so excited to be photographing their wedding in May.  Congrats on your engagement!

Now that the Holiday cards have been sent out and I won’t spoil the surprise, here are some I took of my kids (and dogs) and also my sisters families around Charleston while they were here for Thanksgiving. It was so good to see them.

In a beautiful ceremony at the Ocean Course on Kiawah Island www.kiawahresort.com, Teresa and Ashley were married. The event was planned by Luke Wilson www.lukesevents.com and it was amazing as usual. Jim Smeal made the beautiful cake www.weddingcakesbyjimsmeal.com. I was lucky to have my friend- the talented Leigh Webber www.ltwebber.com along to help photograph the day with me. Congrats Teresa and Ashley!

So I must admit, been a little behind in the blogging, but Libby and Rhett had a wedding that I have been dying to share.  This wedding just oozed southern hospitality.  Lizz at Southern Protocol www.southernprotocol.com did an amazing job with all the beautiful details.  From the sweetgrass to the cotton Anne at Stems www.charlestonstems.com just made it look so pretty and sweet.  The ceremony was at the iconic Summerall Chapel www.citadel.edu/chapel/ and the Reception at the Island House www.islandhouseevents.com.  My favorite part of their day was the getaway by boat.  Guests waved goodbye from the dock with sparklers.  It was awesome.  Congrats to Libby and Rhett!

In one of the funnier coincidences of the year, I photographed two Ashley and Erics and both of the Erics were dentists! The first Ashley is a friend of mine and her wedding included some of my favorite things- flawless event planning and design by Lizz at Southern Protocol, gorgeous flowers by Stems, stunning scenery at the William Aiken House and Permanent Vacation one of the best bands in Charleston!  Eric proposed with her ring in an oyster and I loved that he had it for me to photograph the rings in.  This truly was a joyful celebration from start to finish.  Congrats Ashley and Eric!

If you have been on a Delta Air Lines plane in the last few years, chances are good that you may have seen Katherine.  She is the lead on the Inflight Safety Video that plays at the beginning of your flight.  Kat is a friend of mine and I was so excited when she asked me to photograph her engagement session down in Beaufort.  Cedar is a fighter pilot and we got to take a few with his plane in the background.  I am even more excited to photograph the wedding in February.  Congrats Kat and Cedar!

Lorey and Derek both share a major love for each and Dave Matthews.  They met at a Dave Concert and most of their friends are “Dave Groupies”.  I will say that there must be something about it, because these were some of the nicest family and friends I have ever seen at a wedding.  Lorey’s makeup was done by the amazing Pamela Lesch www.makeupartistcharleston.com.  The ceremony and reception were both held at the Creek Club at I’on www.ioncreekclub.com.  It was a fun night with a great couple- congrats to Lorey and Derek!

Halloween is my favorite holiday- it is all about fun.  I snapped this picture of my little trick or treaters as they were heading out the door last night.

Koren and John are planning their wedding Summer 2013 in Montana.  We met recently do to their engagement session downtown.  These two were so fun to work with, I really hope to be able to photograph their wedding too!  Congrats Koren and John on your engagement!
