Amy and Justin met while down here in Charleston for school and have since moved far away. They decided to have their wedding back in the city where they first met. I am so happy that I get to photograph their wedding! These two are so sweet – I can not wait. Amy and Justin are very playful and Justin loves football, so they wanted to do something a little more fun for their engagement session. After a few downtown, we headed to Hampton Park to toss around the football and take a few more relaxed photos.

On Wednesday August 25th at 5:30pm Miriam and Jorn were married at the beautiful Woodlands Inn www.woodlandsinn.com. Miriam and Jorn came all the way from Germany to get married here in Charleston. They planned a small and intimate ceremony that included mainly family and close friends. A Cellist and a violinist from Classical Charleston www.classicalcharleston.com played during the ceremony and the cocktail hour. Miriam and Jorn planned to do pictures before and after the ceremony and the Woodlands Inn has so many pretty places to use as backgrounds, it was a photographer’s dream to be there photographing this beautiful couple! Cheers to Miriam and Jorn!

Yesterday at 11 am on Folly Beach Dora and Frederico were married. Dora met Frederico in Rome (and not the one in Georgia
)when they were both on a swim team, so it was only appropriate they were surrounded by water for their union. All of Frederico’s family came from Rome, and guests from Mexico too. One might think with at least three different languages being spoken yesterday there would be a little bit of a language barrier, but everyone had a wonderful time with each other. Duvall www.eventsbyduvall.com catered the event and they did a wonderful job of bringing some Italy to Charleston. There were mini tiramisu, pizza, and fresh vegetables- it felt like a real Italian feast. The Cobblestone Trio played jazz that everyone loved. It was true joy being there yesterday. Cheers to Dora and Frederico!

The other day I met Chelsy and Brent downtown to do their engagement photos. Pamela Lesch www.makeupartistcharleston.com did Chelsy’s makeup and as always, Pamela did a wonderful job. Chelsy and Brent were such good sports about the extreme heat we have going on down here. Here are a few of my favorites from the session:

I don’t know what it is about trees, but I just love photographing them. Here are a few I took the other day before an engagement session at the Battery.

One of the best things about photographing kids is seeing what they will do or say next- sometimes it is a funny expression, sometimes it is when they unexpectedly hug their sibling without being asked to do so. I love it all, the sweet and the funny. Kids are just too cute. Here are a few from recent sessions:

This last Saturday at St Lukes Chapel www.musc.edu/stlukeschapel.com Randy and Nicole were married. A reception followed at the Wickliffe House www.wickliffehouse.com. The flowers, the shoes, the colors in the Wickliffe house, were all so vibrant, I just loved photographing them. One of Nicole’s best friends just so happens to be a florist in Chicago and Jenny drove all the flowers down from Chicago for this wedding! Her sister in law just so happens to be Cakes by Kasarda www.cakesbykasarda.com ! (How lucky is Nicole to have all these talented people as family and friends??!!) The cake was gorgeous! I loved all the little details and pleats in it- stunning! Tom at Lee Edwards Entertainment www.leeedwardsentertainment.com kept the crowd jamming and Mediterra Catering www.mediterracatering.com put out a delicious spread. This was a wonderful night with a sweet couple. Cheers to Randy and Nicole!

These last couple of weeks I have been lucky enough to meet some of the nicest families at the Beach for Family portraits. The sessions have been full of sand, splashing, and lots of fun. Here are a few of my favorites:

On Saturday July 17, 2010 Lindsay and Bryan were married at the Citadel’s Summerall Chapel. A reception followed at the Carolina Yacht Club. What a pretty day that started with roses for Lindsay and a note from Bryan that was so sweet (see below.) The skies threatened to rain, but held out for us and made some cool clouds over the Citadel. Ever since I first met with Lindsay and Bryan, they were most excited about their band- The Mighty Kicks. After hearing and watching them jam, I can see why. Those guys were awesome! The lead singer even jumped into a split on the stage! We had some time in between the ceremony and the reception to stop and take pictures at the Battery. The groomsmen were cracking me up playing “secret service” guys. Emily caught a great shot of one of them as we were about to all get in the limo. Lindsay and Bryan left under a sparkler send-off into a waiting pedicab– LOVED IT! Cheers to Lindsay and Bryan!
