Leigh and Derrick were married on July 10 at First Baptist Church. A reception followed at Lowndes Grove Plantation. The details at this event were just spectacular! Luke Wilson and his team www.lukesevents.com at Luke Wilson Special Events made Lowndes Grove look like a dream. Loose Chain rocked into the night and I think you can tell by the pictures how much fun everyone had! The cake was awesome and had a custom logo on it. It was made by Jim Smeal www.weddingcakesbyjimsmeal.com . Leigh and Derrick left the reception under a serenade of sparklers. It really was a beautiful night! Cheers to Leigh and Derrick!

a special thank you to Leigh Webber for taking this beautiful shot-

Last week I photographed a really sweet family from North Carolina. Their girls were just adorable! We had fun running around Boone Hall Plantation taking family pictures.

Last night I met Megan and Todd on Folly Beach for their engagement session. We had the most amazing skies and light for our session. There was a family of dolphins swimming very close to the shore and you can see fins in some of the pictures! It was a beautiful night with a fun couple! Congratulations on the engagement and I will see you in October!

Yesterday I photographed my friend Millan and her family who were in town visiting. Millan is a fellow black and white fan and her family looks great in it! We took these at Boone Hall Plantation in between the rain- you can tell by the puddles! We almost canceled the session when we drove into the parking lot to pouring down rain, but we waited it out and I am so glad we did. It was so good to her and her family!

On Saturday July 10 at 5:30 pm Leigh and Derrick were married at First Baptist Church in Charleston SC. A reception followed at Lowndes Grove Plantation. This wedding was so beautiful, and so full of spectacular details, there was no way to fit it all into one post. Luke Wilson and his team at Luke Wilson Special Events www.lukesevents.com planned a simply divine event. Life Stage films www.lifestagefilms.com was there to also document the event and it was great working alongside them. Matt and Melissa are a husband/wife videography team out of Wilmington and they are fun and so full of great creative energy. Also, I had Emily second shooting with me and I even asked my friend Leigh Webber www.ltwebber.com to come capture a few details at Lowndes Grove (see upcoming post for some of her beautiful work). The bride and groom were so relaxed and awesome to work with and so were all of their families. The ceremony at First Baptist was just pretty. Luke had worked with the Church florist to design a beautiful rose pedal lined aisle for the Bride to walk down. The Bridesmaids dresses were Lula Kate www.lulakate.com (a local Charleston designer) and were so southern and chic! What a day, it will go down as one of my all time favorites! Stay tuned for the reception!

On Friday July 9, 2010 Nikki and Kasey were married at Stella Maris Catholic Church on Sullivan’s Island. A reception followed at the Creek Club in I’on www.ioncreekclub.com. This wedding was a joy to photograph for me- it was beautiful, the bride and groom were so fun, and I got to work with some of my favorite people! Anne at www.charlestonstems.com Stems made all the beautiful flowers. Sara at www.southernprotocol.com Southern Protocol planned this fabulous day and made it so special down to every detail. Sara had personalized wine bottles made that were so appropriate and cute- their new last name is Jolly. Josh Silverman at Silverman Sound was the dj and he got everyone moving- especially the little kids that were having so much fun with the glow sticks. It was the perfect day! The bride and groom left to a Sparkler Serenade into a black cab that was waiting to take them downtown to continue the party. Cheers to Nikki and Kasey!

A great overhead view by my second photographer Emily:

I met Amanda and Dave early on Thursday morning to do these. We were scheduled to meet at 8 am to start (and they were driving from Columbia!!) so when it started to rain at 7:40, I was a little concerned. We pulled out a cute umbrella and started shooting and made the best of the rain. Some of the umbrella shots were my favorites! A little into our session, the rain slowed and we continued to explore downtown. Right after we finished Amanda and Dave were heading up to Columbia to start their drive for their move to Chicago! Talk about a busy weekend!!

On Saturday June 26th at the Citadel Beach House, Stephanie and Aaron were married. There was a wonderful breeze blowing from off the ocean and the pink and green color scheme Stephanie chose was just too fun! Her flower girl was pulled in a wagon down the aisle and it was so cute- you could not help but smile! The vibrant flowers were done by Janice at www.prettypetals.info The event was planned by Charleston Celebrations www.charlestoncelebrations.com and Melissa and her staff were wonderful. The food was catered by Tom Smith www.tscater.com and everyone was talking about how good it tasted! The band rocked the crowd and even inspired a basket toss of the bride (a first for me to see at a wedding!) So fun- no one wanted to go home. The bride and groom left under a glow stick send off.
