Last Saturday at 6:30 pm, Bethany and John were married at Sullivan’s Island. Bethany and John planned a small and intimate wedding with a reception at a private home. The whole wedding had a relaxed, beachy feel- exactly what they wanted. It was a hot day at the beach, so we were happy to have the overcast skies, which made for beautiful pictures. They ended the night with a balloon release- a first for me at a wedding, it looked very cool. Bethany and John were so amazing to work with- congratulations to you both!

Now that she is married, I wanted to share a few of my favorites from a recent bridal portrait session. Laurel was an absolute dream to photograph with her cool vintage style and her birdcage veil. We got rained out the first time we scheduled these, but the rain held off for us the second time and I am so glad that we got a chance to do them.

Congratulations to Erin and Adam who were married on Saturday June 12 at 6:00pm at St Lukes Chapel. A reception followed at the Sand Dunes Club. Flowers were done beautifully by Caroline Palmer. I loved that Erin had her Grandmother’s broach in her bouquet and that she wore her veil as well. The veil was just so pretty and unique and I could not believe how perfect it was for her and her dress. Permanent Vacation http://www.pvacation.com ROCKED as always! They always keep the dance floor full. Guests were chanting “one more song!!” at the end of the night and they obliged. No one wanted to leave because everyone was having such a great time! Cheers to Erin and Adam!

Last Sunday at 1:00pm, Ricky and Tory were married at Lowndes Grove Plantation www.patpropllc.com. The ceremony was held under the most majestic trees facing the water. Tory’s father walked her down the aisle in his air force uniform and it looked so grand. Tory made a stunning bride. She and Ricky had the cutest flower girls and ring bearers. I could have photographed them all day! Matthew at Plan Ahead Events www.planaheadevents-charleston.com coordinated this beautiful event. He did a fabulous job and was great to work with. Here are a few from the day-

Last night, I was lucky enough to attend a beautiful event. Anytime Anne from STEMS www.charlestonstems.com , Cynthia from Canape www.thecanape.com and Lizz at Southern Protocol www.southernprotocol.com get together to plan something, you know it will be spectacular. Last night’s Cynthia Rowley Bridesmaid Launch Party at STEMS did not disappoint! The food, the flowers, the dresses, everything was so pretty and fun to take in. The event was sponsored by Charleston Weddings Magazine. I also got to see my friend Leigh Webber of Leigh Webber Photography www.ltwebber.com. I am proud to call these wonderful women my friends and fellow female entrepeneurs. Lizz asked me to come and document the event for her and I was honored to do so. These dresses and shoes can be found here in Charleston at Bella Bridesmaid.

On Saturday June 5 at 6:30pm Laurel married Hunter at the Legare Waring House in Charleston, SC. This wedding was planned by Southern Protocol www.southernprotocol.com -and I must say it is so great working with Lizz and Sara. Anne Bowen at STEMS www.charlestonstems.com did the beautiful bouquets and boutonnieres (they had cotton in them!) Tom Smith www.tscater.com did a wonderful job catering- everyone raved about the shrimp and grits. Laurel radiated beauty in her vintage style dress and birdcage veil. Hunter surprised her with a new wedding band during the ceremony. They left to a rose pedal send off into a waiting car. Congrats to Laurel and Hunter!

On Sunday May 30th 2010, Justin and Chelsey were married at the Palmer Home on the Battery. A reception followed at The Old Exchange building. Justin’s mom was hospitalized the day of the wedding for an emergency surgery and they were faced with a tough decision as to whether or not to proceed with the ceremony as planned. They chose to proceed, but they had a friend streaming the video live on to her computer in her hospital room! This wedding was just gorgeous! The day was coordinated by Terry at Ooh Events www.oohevents.com and she did a great job and was so fun to work with. Kristin and everyone at the Palmer Home www.palmerhomebb.com were so sweet and helpful..the Palmer Home is beautiful and it is right on the Battery. Chelsey and Justin arranged for musicians to parade the guests down the street to the Old Exchange Building for the reception, and was that neat to see! Cru Catering www.crucatering.com catered the event and everything looked perfect. Justin’s Grandmother stepped in for the mother/son dance and it was so sweet. The breathtaking cake was by Jim Smeal http://weddingcakesbyjimsmeal.com/ and it looked like the Angel Oak tree (which is where we took some of Chelsey’s Bridal portraits!). I loved this wedding. Congratulations to Chelsey and Justin!
