Tonight I met Samantha and Nick at Folly Beach for their engagement session. We thought we might get rained out for a minute, but it ended up being a beautiful night. There is this awesome graffiti on the way out to the beach that I had always wanted to use as a background, but had not found the right moment. Nick and Samantha volunteered to be the first and I think they are some of my favorites from our session. Congratulations Samantha and Nick–I will see you very soon for the wedding!

Yesterday at 4:30 pm, Erika and Michael were married at Old Wideawake Plantation www.oldwideawakeplantation.com. WOW! There are some weddings where everything is magical–the bride and groom are just awesome, the weather is perfect, the location is just breathtaking.. this was one of those weddings! Erika is an event planner so I knew that she would plan a fabulous day- and she did! There were so many cool details that she had done. My favorite was the “guess what Erika and Michael will be doing in 5, 10, and 25 years.” (See below for one of the guests answers!) Even the flowers, which were so well done by Richard Meiberg were stunning. Erika’s hair was done by Jen at Save the Date Studio and she did a super job-it was gorgeous! Tom from Lee Edwards Entertainment www.leeedwardsentertainment.com kept the dance floor rocking and rolling all night long. The food looked and smelled delicious and was catered by Granville’s www.granvillescafeandcatering.com. This was my first time to the Old Wideawake Plantation, and I hope to get back again soon! Congratulations Erika and Michael! Have a wonderful honeymoon!

Today I met Jill and Chip downtown for their engagement session. They brought their dog Sport along for some pictures and I hope they bring him to the wedding too-he’s so cute
The Dock Street theatre is complete and it looks so beautiful. It was so nice to be able to use the bricks and blues as backgrounds. We also headed over to the Charleston Marina (and we took some pictures in the very spot where they first met.) I can’t wait for their wedding in September!

Last night at 5:00 pm, Denise and Thomas were married at the Lutheran Church of the Ascension in Columbia, South Carolina. A reception followed at the Springdale House and Gardens. Denise and Thomas have a true love story. They have known each other and been friends since middle school. It was only a couple of years ago that they started dating, and the rest is history! The candlelit ceremony and the stone church with the bright red door took my breath away–so pretty! At the reception Fantasy Band rocked the place. They had the crowd singing and dancing with them all night. Everyone had a great time, including me! Congratulations to Denise and Thomas!

Keimei and Jesse were married Friday night at 6:00pm at the William Aiken House. Lizz and Sara at Southern Protocol www.southernprotocol.com planned a beautiful event. Anne Bowen at Stems www.charlestonstems.com made the most vibrant flower arrangements and bouquets that just made the bold colors at the William Aiken house pop and with all the bright flowers- a little rain could not darken this day. Josh Silverman at Silverman Sound kept great tunes going and the night seemed to end too quickly. Keimei and Jesse and their families were so sweet and in love. It truly was a joy working with them. A special thank you to my friend Leigh Webber www.ltwebber.com who came to help me photograph this special day. Congratulations to Keimei and Jesse!

Today Lizz at Southern Protocol www.southernprotocol.com asked me to come and photograph some of the details of a wedding she had planned. Whenever Lizz gets together with Anne Bowen at Stems www.charlestonstems.com magic happens. How cool are those flower arrangements with the green apples? I love the Creek Club, it is so pretty and Lizz and the two Saras made it look so beautiful today.
